Vaughan Constructions is pleased to announce that our Sigma Healthcare Distribution Centre project has been awarded as the winner of the Excellence in Construction of Industrial Buildings in the $10 million-$20 million category, at the 2019 Western Australia Master Builders Association Excellence in Construction Awards.
The awards were held Saturday 20 July at Crown Perth and celebrated Western Australia’s top construction projects.
Appointed under a Design and Construct contract, Vaughan was engaged to deliver a fully temperature controlled distribution centre for leading pharmaceutical network, Sigma Healthcare.
Works completed by Vaughan include 16,115m² of building area and 11,814m² of external area.
Located in the premier Swan Brewery Industrial Estate in Canning Vale the facility comprises a 15,018m² warehouse and distribution centre, 158m² distribution office and 939m² of office and amenities.
The facility was designed and constructed with the provision for the warehouse to be extended to 20,000m² to cater for future growth.
External works consisted of footpath, heavy duty concrete hardstand, carpark and a fire access road.
Internally, the facility is fitout with innovative automation technology to enhance Sigma's fulfilment and delivery services.
Furthermore, the new space operates under 100% redundancy, with backup generators to ensure power is always accessible for refrigeration.
A strong partnership between builder and customer was pivotal to the success of this project. This is the second project Vaughan has delivered for Sigma and our team were thrilled to partner with them once again.
