PFD Food Services engaged Vaughan Constructions under a Design & Construct contract to complete the Australian owned industry heavy weight’s distribution facility in Knoxfield, Victoria.
The building boasts 8,500m² of freezer space, a 5,500m² cool room, 22 recessed docks and 3 on grade docks. Staff amenities include ample breakout space, a wellness room and outdoor areas, setting the standard for an employer of choice environment within commercial and industrial-grade facilities.
Harnessing the power of the environment, the now completed building also includes impressive sustainable water-saving initiatives. Tanks on site have the capacity to collect and store over one and a half million litres of rainwater, which can be re-used for refrigeration, irrigation and bathroom facilities.
Integrating the base build and fit-out, Vaughan strategically prioritised key areas of the building programme to provide early access dates to allow for fitout works to be completed simultaneously with the base build.
